Where:

  • IP: IP Address.
  • Port: Port Number.
  • Slave ID: Slave ID in network.
  • Recall: Number of polls before a recall.
  • Secure Polls: Enable/Disable a CheckSum on the polls.

Master Mode

For Master Mode, all parameters must be configured.

Slave Mode

For Slave Mode, only IP and Slave ID parameters must be configured.

Point Configuration

Address

The syntax for the Genisys communication point is:

  • Type: Indicator to Commands or Indications.
  • Address: Indicator to Commands or Indications

Write Group

When configuring the write address points, they must be in a WriteGroup since the communication always sends all 8 bits at once.

To configure the WriteGroup AccessType:

  1. Go to Devices → AccessTypes.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Set a WriteTrigger to a Tag.

     5. After configuring the AccessType, go to Devices → Points.

     6. Set the Control points to the newly created AccessType.

Read Group - Slave Mode

When using the Genisys driver in Slave Mode, the Points must be configured for an AccessType with some specific configuration parameters.

To configure this AccessType:

  1. Go to Devices → AccessTypes.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Set ReadPolling to Never and check Read On Startup.

     4. After the configuration of the AccessType, go to Devices → Points.

5.Set the Control points to the newly created AccessType.
  • CommunicationMode:
    • SerCard: Serial communication through interface card.
    • Pt_to_Pt:Direct point-to-point communication.
  • SlaveId: Unique node identifier in the network (0-31).
  • Slot Source: Source slot position in the rack (0-126)
  • Protocol Processor:
    • Mono: Single processor - one CPU.
    • Multi: Multiple processor - multiple CPUs.

Nodes Configuration

Station Configuration

PLCType:Set this field with the target PLC type. Available options are: A15, A20, A30, A30E, A40, A40E.

PLCStation: Identifies which station will be communicated with. Default value is 1.

SlotDest: Defines the communication moduledestination slot position in the Reliance rack. Default value is 0.

  • Serial channels:

Station syntax: <PLCType>;<PLCStation>;<SlotDest>

Ex: com1;A15;1;0

  • MultiSerial channels:

Station syntax: <ComPort>;<PLCType>;<PLCStation>;<SlotDest>

Where : <ComPort> = COM Port of the slave device in the network (default is com1).
Ex: com1;A15;1;0

Points Configuration

The syntax for the Reliance communication points is: <Command>:<Address>

Where:

  • <Command>: Represents the Command to execute:
    • Register: Read and write data registers.
    • NumberNodes: Sets the total number of nodes in the network.
    • Status: Monitors communication status.
  • <Address>: Address number
