Devices AccessTypes (Reference)

Overview

The Device AccessType defines the defines the rules for reading and/or writing values for Device Point. Each Point is associated with one AccessType.

Settings include among others: Polling Rate, Read on Startup, and if is enabled to do Writing.

Devices Channels (Reference)

Overview

The software platform establishes Channels to manage communication using protocols. A DeviceChannel object encapsulates a selected Protocol and its configuration settings. The Channel is the next step of the Device Module configuration, mapping the stations of PLCs or devices in a field network, and allowing the selection of the protocol settings that will be used with each device.

Devices Monitor (Reference)

Overview

When the solution is running, and the Designer is connected with the runtime, the Devices Monitor page will show the basic status of its communication Nodes.

Devices Nodes (Reference)

Overview

Each device connected to the system is mapped to a Device Node.  Each node contains one or more Points. This page explains how to create nodes and also how to import them from various sources.

Devices Points (Reference)

Overview

Device Points represent specific data elements (like registers, I/O values, or variables) within a Node, which represents a connected device. By binding device points to tags in the software, they provide granular access to device data for both monitoring and control, enabling seamless data exchange between the platform and field devices.
